To save lives by reducing the impact of earthquakes and other sudden onset disasters by increasing community resilience and preparedness in disaster- prone countries and by maintaining a world class search and rescue capability able to deploy whenever and wherever the need arises

Purpose

RAPID UK provides a 365 day, 24 hour emergency response search and rescue capability based on an INSARAG Medium USAR Team. RAPID UK is enhancing its national flood response capability with the procurement of additional equipment and a comprehensive training programme to meet DEFRA critieria for national resilience. RAPID UK's training offerings to disaster prone countries has marked it apart from other search and rescue charities. It will continue to undertake such projects and will actively pursue opportunities to increase the number of countries in which it operates.
