RAPID UK has two broad areas of expertise, disaster response and capacity building. Since 1996, RAPID UK has provided search and rescue support in 22 incidents worldwide and conducted more than 64 preparedness or capability building projects internationally. At RAPID UK, we understand that more lives are saved though the mitigation work that we do with local governments and communities. More recently, teams we have trained in disaster prone countries have gone on to help out in international crises.

 We have forged relationships with local government agencies and embassies which enable us to gain the permission needed to respond in times of emergency almost immediately. In the initial hours following a disastrous incident rescue teams need to be mobilised quickly if they are to be successful recovering survivors.

 Our deployment to such an extensive range of national and international disasters gives us a solid foundation as well as an abundance of experience to provide unparalleled training to our operational members and international partners.
